The footage at 4.00 is taken from the battle at oosterbeck in september 1944 when the paras attempted to buy time for XXX corps. The “bridge too far” story. Very sloppy use of film there!!
The Germans did try to make a better Glider (which looked similar to the one that the Brits had in the video) and it was BIG and it also took two Hienkel 111 Bombers that were placed together at the wing tip.
I suppose this was because there were other more vital improvements to be made in other aspects of the war effort and perhaps this was because the concept of the glider was already being countered…

Well I think that gliders being like 1 use vehicules why spend time and resources, which you dont have, to try and better them.

Market Garden, what a farce, Montgomery was way overrated, his victory at el alemein was only due to Rommel having no supplies

Gliders were death traps and they stopped using them after wwII.
